Welcome to the Australian Guitar Making School.

We are located in Toronto NSW Australia. Next to the beautiful Lake Macquarie.

  • learn to build your own high performance guitar
  • Choose your own acoustic or classical design with a choice of modern or traditional designs and materials.
  • Select your own timbers. Australian or imported.
  • Work at your own pace under careful supervision.
  • No previous woodworking experiance required. 
  • 4 hour classes of upto 6 students.
  • 5 classes a week to choose from. 3 evening classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6 -10 pm or 2 daytime classes, Tuesday and Friday 9.30am - 1.30pm.
  • Fun social atmosphear.
  • Some students have made violins, ukuleles, harps and mandolins.
  • 40% of students come back to build another instrument.

Cost:  $65 per 4 hour class.    Between 26 and 33 classes required to complete your guitar.   

Timber cost:  $350 - $550 depending on materials. $50 for glue, sand paper, tape etc.

Average overall cost - $2500.

The Hobart Tasmania school will start on 8th September 2012 . This school runs for 3 weeks full time. Sundays not included.  I supply all the timber except back and sides. You get to choose your own back and sides from the Tasmanian suppliers. Cost is $2,880.
